Ideematec is proud to announce the successful acquisition of the 3rd project in the esteemed Merak Solar Project cluster, located near Lichtenburg, South Africa. This achievement further solidifies Ideematec's position as a prominent player in the renewable energy industry. With a total capacity of 388MWp, the Merak Solar cluster will be powered by Ideematec's flagship L:TEC® 1P tracker technology, with the first two projects totaling 256MWp already well underway.
The patented locking and decoupled drive technology of the L:TEC® 1P tracker enables the seamless integration of XXL modules and longer string lengths, without compromising the stability of the trackers. This innovative design not only ensures superior performance but also enhances module protection, reducing stress on the trackers and modules over their lifetime. The low inclination stow feature further enhances module protection, providing the best available shielding against external elements.
As part of its commitment to the region, Ideematec is actively expanding its local capabilities in Sub-Saharan Africa through a strong partnership with a local industrial partner. This strategic collaboration allows Ideematec to strengthen its on-ground presence and ensure efficient project execution, further bolstering its commitment to sustainability in the region.
By securing the 3rd project in the Merak Solar cluster, Ideematec cements its position as a leader in solar tracking technology. The L:TEC® 1P tracker not only optimizes energy production but also reduces maintenance requirements, leading to substantial cost savings for solar power plant owners and operators.
